Death is change, as is undeath.

Fuck Your Ghost is a game about and a guide to its namesake.

A solo-journalling game that will ask you to perform Necromancy,  be deeply introspective, and have sex with an abstraction of yourself that you have discarded.

This game is about the parts of us that are dead, but not gone.

This game includes themes and references to death, undeath, ghosts, and explicit sexual activity including necrophilia.

A fully laid out and illustrated version, plain text version, and audiobook version of Fuck Your Ghost are in development, to be released later in 2025.

This project contains no material created using generative AI. All the writing is my own. All images currently being used are stock photos.

(Skippable intro ramble moved afterwards so this leads sensibly.)

tldr: feeling sad and weird and existential; decided to get up and read through some of the games/not-quite-games I’ve not yet engaged with. Stumbled on this one and read the whole thing and man.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️;  😭 with potential future😳 🥵

skippable intro ramble: it just clicked onto my mumblymumble (no, wait, fuck that! 40th. 40th!) birthday after an long few months capping off a Very Tumultuous few years (such that I’m proud of myself for getting here). I woke up right before from a dream where I was trying to explain a love story/character study I wanted to write using intentionally coded / indirect language —and people kept talking over me, dismissing the project as depressing, explaining the queer/trans/neurodivergent experience *to* me, otherwise making me feel unheard and shitty.

I decided to get up and read through some of the games/not-quite-games I’ve not yet engaged with. Stumbled on this one and read the whole thing and man. What timing. It made me cry. In a good way. On the appropriate list it goes.

There’s a song that Patrick Wolf put out on his last album that asks, rhetorically, “how many years can you disappear for before they call off the patrol?” Heard and over-related to, sir. This game provides an answer, though: you may be long past where “missing” becomes “presumed dead”; hell, you may never really have been allowed to exist at all, but you can still resurrect yourself. Sometimes, maybe much of the time, you’re your own best search and rescue.
(And clearly, sexiest.)

As for the ghost-fucking, prurient readers… I need to get to know and tend to my ghost a little better first. Whether or not I ever get to full necromancy (or necrophilia!) this one is definitely coming back off the…file hierarchy.

Now to figure out what to do with “a game you want to send your therapist because the somatics are just — chef’s kiss — and it has great visualization instructions and a fun but very touching premise plus it’s super geared toward their client base: and you just think they’d enjoy it bc they’re rad… but it’s a sexy game and they’re not That Kind of therapist and - yknow??”. Hmmm. Maybe we start with ‘how much do you know about solo RPGs’.
